Church: A people to serve

A prayer based on Romans 12.

Lord God,Your mercy is great, your love is unending,your grace is sufficent for all our needs.

Our words are not enough to say thank you.How can lips tell of all that you have done?We cannot sing loud enough to declare how great your are.

You deserve more; you deserve our all.We offer you our bodies as a living sacrfice.We give you our all, as an act of continual worship.

Thank you for equipping us with gifts,May we know these and use them in the service of your kingdom.May we do so whole-heartedly, holding nothing back.

Our love must be sincere.May we seek to help, encourage and build each other up.May our eyes be open to the ways in which we can serve one anotherCause us to pray continually.Give us generous hearts, and open wallets t0 support your work in this place.

Keep us from anxiety,Save us from selfishness,Banish pride from our lives.

Be with those who have responsibilty to steward the finances given to the congregation.Enable those who lead, to see and develop the gifts given to the congregation.Help us to give opportunties to all to serve. Together may we bear with each other, as we grow in the gifts you have given to each of us.

In your Son, our mercyful Saviours name we pray,Amen.
