Our Great God

A prayer based on Joshua 5:2-12

Living God, We come to you in prayer, knowing that you are our God.You care for us, you listen to us, you have bound yourself to us in covenant.We praise you because you are powerful.You opened up the Jordan river.Your people walked through on dry ground.Your power has no limits. You do not grow weary, your power never fades.We stand in awe of you, and give you our praise.We praise you because you are faithful.You keep your word, your promises do not fail.Your plans can never be thwarted.We stand in awe of you, and give you our praise.We praise you because you redeem.You rescued your people from slavery.You rolled their shame away.You have delivered us from our sin.Your love is deep, redemption is complete.We stand in awe of you and give you our praise.We praise you because you provide.Manna in the desert, gives way to a land rich with resources.Your provision is generous and diverese.Riches and food which we delight in.We stand in awe of you and give your our praise.We praise you, powerful and faithful one.We praise you for redeeming us and providing everything we need.May we never give in to fear, because we doubt your power.May we never rebel against you, because we doubt your promises.May we never boast in our goodness, because we doubt your redemption.May we never swell with pride, thinking we have got all this for ourselves, so doubting your generous provision.Living God,May our lives be marked with trust in you and obedience to you.May we live our lives with thankfulness.In Jesus our Saviours name we pray,AMEN.
