Aaron Boyd's song 'Jericho' begins with the line
To all our questions, there will be an answer
It is a catchy song - posted at the end of this blog. The song expresses Christian truth, but I do not think the truth it expresses is based wholly on the book of Joshua!
So why am I posting it here?
The song is speaking about the questions our life experiences rise. It is true they shall be answered by God himself one day, perhaps in eternity.
I want to think about the questions the book of Joshua itself raises.
We are changing gear this week, and moving at pace. This Sunday, we are covering Joshua 8:30 to 12:24. Spend some time this week reading over the passage. It will raise lots of questions.
Here's a couple of things you can do in reponse:
Look for the key! Yesterday we seen the importance of key verses (7:1, 11, 26) to help us understand the story. The key kept us from running away with our own interpretations, no matter how good they seem. So as you read through - look for the keys in each chapter.
Send in your questions! Write all your questions down, think them through, and send them to me (mmckeown@churchofscotland.org.uk). It will help me in prep for Sunday... I may not be able to cover them all on Sunday morning, but will use them to shape the sermon. If I don't get them covered off, we can chat one to one.
