Brought near

In these days no-one needs to be reminded about the pain caused by distance.  When you cant visit family it doesn't matter if they live round the corner or across the world.  When you aren't allowed to touch, even 2 metres seems like a mile.

In today's Psalm we are encouraged to praise God because of the blessings of being brought near.

Praise awaits you, our God, in Zion; to you our vows will be fulfilled. You who answer prayer, to you all people will come. When we were overwhelmed by sins, you forgave our transgressions. Blessed are those you choose and bring near to live in your courts! We are filled with the good things of your house, of your holy temple. You answer us with awesome and righteous deeds, God our Savior, the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas,

Psalm 65:1-5

We have been brought near to God and know great blessings of being in his house. He fills us and satisfies us.

Did you notice when we are brought near?

Right at the time when we are overwhelmed with our sins. At the moment when we feel we dont have a right to be near - he comes and brings us near.

That's grace. Amazing grace - which tunes our heart to praise.
