Don't hold back

Have you ever been in a crowd and think - I don't really belong here? Everyone else seems like they belong, and you wonder, how on earth did I end up here? When you feel like that, you stand on the edge, you don't fully commit or get wholly involved.

Today's reading, encourages us to be confident and fully committed.

Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.

Hebrews 10:19-23

Jesus has opened the door, and we can confidently walk in.

We don't need to hold back. We shouldn't feel that we don't belong.

We can enter, and go right up to God himself.

We can, we must draw near to him.

So don't hold back. Don't dance around the edge. Come in and enjoy God. Delight in his presence. Pour out your heart to him, in praise, thanks and requests. Know that he loves you. Know that he cares for you.

And as the passage goes on to day - don't just look out for yourself. Spur others on. Encourage them to draw near. Love and care for one another.

We can't meet together in the physical realm... but how can you connect with someone else today? How will you pray for someone else today?
