Glorious new age

We pick up where we left off yesterday. Then, Peter was quoting from OT prophecy declaring that the new age spoken about then, has now come.

Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke. The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord. And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’

Acts 2:18-21

What is so glorious about the age of the Spirit?

It is an age of equality - male and female, young and and old, slave and free - all who trust in Jesus receive his Spirit. All are blessed and equipped in the same way. All are equal to serve.

It is a step forward. We are moving closer to the day when Jesus shall return and judge everyone. His judgement shall be just and fair. And it shall be decisive, bringing to an end the age of the Spirit and ushering in his new age of peace.

It is an age or opportunity. Everyone who calls now on the name of the Lord shall be saved. And for my money, that is the most glorious thing about the age of the Spirit.
