It's his armour

Yesterday we seen both the reason we need armour, and the effectiveness of that armour.

Today's reading explores the detail of our armour.

Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

Ephesians 6:14-18

The picture is complete - from head to toe, we are completely shod with the armour of God. Each part is needed; each part has it's use.

Each part is tried and tested.

That's the point - it's HIS armour. Our Lord, himself has tired, tested and proven the armour. In each battle he engaged in during his time on earth, he wore this armour. And he won.

So let us wear HIS armour with confidence. He will never fail you.

PS - I recently read 'The whole armour of God' by Iain Dugiud, and highly recommend it. Pick up a copy here https://www.evangelicalbookshop.co.uk/products/the-whole-armour-of-god?_pos=1&_sid=8fa9d6932&_ss=r
