Learn, Think, Live

Did you ever sit in school and wonder - why do I need to know this? It all seemed so far removed from real life to be in any way useful.

Sometimes the bible can seem like that. Other times, we treat the bible like an energy drink - read a little here and it will keep you going. Often we just want the bible to work for us - without our having to put any effort in at all.

Joshua knew different...

“Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Joshua 1:7=9

We must read and listen to the bible. Learn it.

Then seek to understand it. And as you understand what it is saying to you, it should change how you live, because you are obeying it.

God does use his word to bring us strength. And he gives us wisdom, for how we are to live.
