No need to fear

Being afraid it natural. At times, it is good - we should be afraid of things which can harm us. At other times, it is fear itself which harms and limits us. We hold back, because we are afraid.

Being with others can give confidence. As we watch how they respond to a situation we are able to deal with our fears.

There is no better person to be with than God. Being with him, grows are natural confidence.

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Isaiah 41:10

Yet there is more going on, a greater dynamic at work. Our reading tells us, that we don't just increased or find our natural confidence. We don't stand tall, just because we have a big guy with us. No, God himself, actually gives us strength. He imparts something to us, which we do not have. We don't find this strength hidden away inside us. No, this is better, it is HIS strength, given to us.

What is it that brings you fear?

God is with you. He strengthens you. Do you have any reason to fear?
