Patience: Space to repent

We all have the same amount of time in a day - it's how we use those 24 hours which makes us different.
Some move quickly, and pack their days full. Others, enjoy a more leisurely pace, and never seem to get around to doing that thing. People on these opposite ends of the scale can infuriate each other. And we can even get pretty angry with God, when it seems like he isn't moving at all.
But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
2 Peter 3:8-9
God isn't slow. He isn't forgetful. His to do list isn't filled with other things more important that your concerns. Neither is he just working his way around the world and yet to get to our little corner.
No - he is always active. Always on the move. And sometimes his move is to give us space. To allow us time. To give us the opportunity to repent.
So don't get annoyed with him. Don't shake your fists in anger. Look into your own heart. Examine your life.
And use this gift of time to repent.
