Peace and joy

What are peace and joy? Where are they to be found?

Words? An experience? A hope?

They are so much more - and they are found in a person. When you know him, you experience true peace and lasting joy.

On the evening of the first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!" After he said this he showed the his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when the saw the Lord.John 20:19-20

Our experience of peace and joy, do vary from day to day and moment to moment. I do not want to oversimplify things. At times we can wrestle with God's word, cry out to him in prayer and still not experience the peace and joy that we once had.

That being said, it is not oversimplifying to say that, if you lock Jesus out of the room. If you keep him out of your life, you will not experience true peace, and lasting joy. That can only be found, know and experienced in relationship with him.

In these times of lockdown, don't lock Jesus out.
