Priorities

We all have so much to do - our lists are full, and to be honest the things at the bottom will likely stay there for a long time. Hey, they might never get a look in!

Where does God come in your list of priorities?

You might not think that is a fair question... can we really place God on a list, somewhere inbetween clean the bathroom and tidy the garden? Of course we can't - but in reality we do! That's the truth which the prophet Haggai raised a mirror to in his time.

This is what the Lord Almighty says: “Give careful thought to your ways. Go up into the mountains and bring down timber and build my house, so that I may take pleasure in it and be honored, ” says the Lord. “You expected much, but see, it turned out to be little. What you brought home, I blew away. Why?” declares the Lord Almighty. “Because of my house, which remains a ruin, while each of you is busy with your own house.

Haggai 1:7-9

You're all too busy sorting your own houses out, to worry about mine.

You're too concerned with your own stuff to give time to me.

You're acting like it all depends on you, instead of trusting me to provide all you need.

Seek me first, and all these thigns shall be added onto you.

Let's listen to the prophet and take time today to 'Give careful thought to our ways.'
