A prayer based on Colossians 3:15-17
Lord God,
Thank you for chosing us, making us holy and setting your love upon us. We do not deserve your mearcy, the status you give us and the privileges you bestow upon us.
Thank you.
May the peace of Christ, rule over our life together.
We are sorry for the times when we have worked against peace - by spreading rumours, holding onto past hurts or withholding love for one another. You brought us together as one body. You bought our peace with your blood. Enable us to unite around yourself, to work together for your aim, to cherish the peace you have one for us. Thank you for our brothers and sisters in the church family at Moodiesburn and Chryston. For our diverse personalities, for the gifts and insight you have given to us all, for the ways in which we see your love, grace and power displayed in each other. Thank you.
May the message of Christ dwell richly among us.
We are sorry for being satisfied too easily. Cause us to hunger after yourself. May we seek to drive the word deep into the soil of one another's lives. Where the truth is unclear, may we help each other to understand. Where the going is difficult, may we encourage and strengthen each other.
Thank you for the gift of praise. For the way in which we can teach and admonish each other with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. May we delight in the truth we sing. May we encourage each other as we sing loudly, allowing our bodies to resonate with the truth the songs contain. May we glory in you, and encourage each other to do the same. Thank you, for one another.
May we live our whole lives, for your glory.
In all that we do Lord, may we be true representatives of you, our Saviour and King. In all that we say Lord, may our words bring glory to you. In all that we think and dream, may we honour you.
So may our whole lives, be acts of thankful worship to you.
We pray, with thankfulness, in our Saviour Jesus name,
Amen.
