The biggest surprise, ever!

I am not one for making big sweeping statements. I don't think I am able to speak for a nation. I find it difficult where an event stands in the scale of big events in history.

That being said, with this story - I am on safe ground. Without a doubt, this was the biggest surprise, ever. And the one event which had the greatest impact on the whole world.

'After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and say on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his cloths were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he is risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay."Matthew 28:1-6

The women went to look at the tomb. They where visiting the place of the dead. They where going to the place they watched Jesus body being laid. They expected to find it, just as it was when they left two days earlier.

Instead they found it open and empty. An angel is outside, sitting on the stone which had blocked the entrance. He breaks the news - they won't find Jesus here. He has risen. He is alive.

He is alive.

'His heart beats...

the blood that brought us peace with God is racing through his veins.' Andrew Peterson.
