What caused the church to grow?

So the word of God spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly, and a large number of priests became obedient to the faith.
Acts 6:7
Our passage this morning, ends with this huge encouragement. The number of disciples increased - rapidly! Why?
Was it because...
A new effective structure was put in place?
The apostles facing up to the problem of injustice in the church?
All the believers where cared for?
All the believers where serving one another?
Fresh leaders where put in place?
The apostles stuck to their core mission - prioritising prayer and the word?
A willingness to change?
Or was it all of the above? There is a danger in being simplistic. To lift one reason, and neglect the others, would lead to an imbalance in the life of the church. And an imbalanced church, will not grow. So lets not fixate on growth. Let's not persue one idea, as the sure hope for the future of the church. Rather, let us seek to be the people of Christ - loving God and each other. Serving the community he has place us in and the people we meet daily. And as we do so, he will take care of the growth.
